November news

Well November was a sad old month for us, and one that we'll be happy to put behind us.

As you know, we had to shut the doors early on in November. Everyone knew the lockdown was coming and so there was a fair of stocking up done in the three days before we closed. This did mean that we had the three busiest days of the year so far on 2nd, 3rd and 4th November. That being said, the rest of the month was much quieter as we had to restrict the shop sales to web orders, click & collect and local deliveries.

Shop closed

The good news for November was that we were able to write cheques for both RSPCA Chesterfield and Ashgate Hospice, for £321 and £191 respectively.

This money was raised by us selling fabric from the "de-stash" table.

For those who don't know what this is - we have a table as you enter the shop which is customer fabric donations (hence the de-stash) which we sell on. All money raised from this is passed directly to the charity. At the moment we are continuing to support Ashgate Hospice, so any fabric bought from the de-stash table will help a very good cause!

If you have any fabrics that you want to donate, please get in touch shop@freds-haberdashery.co.uk

In a quieter moment, we had a dig around in the archives and found an amazing photo of Fred in a previous version of the shop and shared it on our social media (we're on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter!) - we received an amazing response and were so pleased to hear how many people visited Fred's over the year, and even now, still enjoyed coming to Fred's.
